US Embassy opens AGOA Center in Kankan

An AGOA (African Growth and Opportunity Act) Information Center was unveiled at the Université Julius Nyerere in Kankan last week.  The Director of the University attended the ceremony, along with the director of the American Reading Room at the university.  The media coverage included local press, as well as the national television station, RTG.

The AGOA information Center will allow interested students and local businesspersons to access detailed information on how to take advantage of the AGOA program, as well as, success stories of other West African businesses who have already used AGOA to export goods to the U.S.  The unveiling was another step in raising the profile of AGOA in Guinea, to be followed-up by several AGOA Days throughout the country.
