An American Dancer-Choreographer in Conakry

The members of Ballet Djoliba in closing piece of a performance put together in only six days.

Within the framework of cultural exchanges between the U.S. and Guinea, the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Conakry has the pleasure to announce the arrival of American Cultural Envoy Esther Baker-Tarpaga, dancer and choreographer. During her stay in Guinea, Mrs. Baker-Tarpaga will be working with the dancers of Ballet Djoliba to integrate their past experience and training with new approaches to dance.

At the culmination of the workshop, the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Conakry has organized a one night only performance of “Danse Guinéo-Américaine,” a result of exchanges between artists of different styles and backgrounds at the Centre Culturel Franco-Guinéen the 27th of April 2007 at 8:00 pm.

N.B.: For more information about obtaining free tickets, please contact the Centre Culturel Franco-Guinéen.  Because supplies are limited, tickets are available on a first come first serve basis.
