Obama’s First 100 Days with Dr. Lorenzo Morris
On May 19, the U.S. Embassy in Conakry, in collaboration with Africa Regional Services of Paris, hosted a digital video conference with Dr. Lorenzo Morris on “Obama’s First 100 Days.” Dr. Morris, the Chair of the Political Science Department at Howard University and current Fulbright professor in Paris, gave an informative presentation and answered a range of questions on trends and policies of the Obama Administration.
Participants, representing political parties, NGOs, academics, academics, students and civil society, were extremely engaged and appreciated the opportunity to ask questions directly to such a highly regarded American expert. They were especially interested in Dr. Morris’ views on Obama’s foreign policy, as well as the role of ethnic minorities and youth in the new administration.
The digital video conference format permits the U.S. Embassy in Conakry to connect leaders from across Guinean society with American experts. These events provide an opportunity for Guinean and American professionals to discuss current issues in a very direct way. This event was no exception and participants expressed their satisfaction with the opportunity for such a dialogue.
