US Embassy Hosts Ramadan Meals
On September 10, in honor of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the Chargé d’Affaires hosted an official Embassy Iftaar at the Ambassador’s Residence, with over 100 guests in attendance. This event – the fourth of its kind hosted by Embassy Conakry – reinforces our commitment to friendship, mutual understanding and respect with the Guinean Muslim community.
Guests included a number of prominent Imams, representatives from the diplomatic corps, government officials, Guinea/Muslim community organizations, youth leaders, as well as representatives of other faiths. The highlight of this year’s Iftaar was the strong presence of up-and-coming figures, including young political leaders, key members of the Guinean media, and human rights activists from around the Conakry region.
