Offices and Departments
The Political/Economic Office is responsible for current and long-term reporting and analysis on Guinea including domestic and international political affairs. The Political and Economic Section, which also operates commercial services.
The U.S. Embassy in Conakry provides a GKS (Gold Key Service (GKS) to American business representatives on business trips to Guinea. The GKS includes orientation briefings by the Embassy Economic/ Commercial staff, up to four appointments per day, a freelance interpreter and a copy of our latest Country Commercial Guide (CCG). The GKS charge is $300/day and $200 for each subsequent day.
The Public Affairs Section manages cultural programs and exchanges, in addition to maintaining relationships with local press and media. It is located in the American Cultural Center, along with the Thurgood Marshall Information Resource Center.
The Consular Section provides the full range of American citizen services as well as nonimmigrant visa processing. The Consular Section does not provide immigrant visa services.
