The U.S. Embassy in Conakry is issuing this Warden Message to inform Americans that unrest persists this morning, June 13, following yesterday’s violent demonstrations.
All Americans are strongly advised to avoid travel in Conakry and throughout Guinea until the security situation improves. The U.S. Embassy is open and available to all American citizens for questions and concerns.
Please keep in mind that the strike is open ended. Violent demonstrations and protests may continue throughout the week.
Americans should use all security precautions and try to maintain at least a half tank of gas in their vehicles. It is always prudent to ensure that you have water and consumables to last you at least three days in the event that food establishments are closed or services are disrupted.
We are closely monitoring the situation, particularly with regard to security conditions, and will issue additional notices as information becomes available.

Americans without Internet access may register directly with the U.S. Embassy in Conakry. By registering, American citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of emergency.
