2006 Warden Information

Consular Warden Message

U.S. Embassy Conakry

June 29, 2006

The U.S. Embassy in Conakry is issuing this Warden Message to inform Americans that the June 27 Israeli incursion into the Gaza Strip brings with it the possibility of Anti-American sentiment.

As a reminder, demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence.  American citizens are therefore urged to exercise caution, and to remain alert to their surroundings.

The U.S. Embassy will issue additional notices, if necessary, as information becomes available.

For the latest security information, Americans should regularly monitor the Department’s Internet web site at http://travel.state.gov where the current Worldwide Caution Public Announcement, Travel Warnings and Public Announcements can be found.  Americans can also access the U.S. Embassy in Conakry’s Consular Section via telephone +224-30-420-981/2/3; email consularconakr@state.gov; or internet at http://conakrysntse.conakry.state.gov/consular_section.htm.
